Notes #562

The Alien Death Plague is still with me. It still wipes out my energy and makes me feel gruesome, but have actually been able to organize some notes and do some research today. Purchased two .99¢books for said research and am charging the Nook now – once the Kindle finishes its turn: (There are some things, like the Kindle and Nook readers, in the 21st Century that causes it to feel like The 21st Century. Know what I mean? )

I am feeling better because the idea of getting out next week to visit the university library and the public library21century aren’t making me shiver with dread. I am looking forward to the outing and to the research, which is always a good sign.

Another writing activity planned for next week is Word Forge Writer’s Group is meeting here at the apartment Wednesday. Yes, we have a name! We have had a name for a while, but no one has used it. Yes, the group members are my friends, but we are each working hard for publication and telling the best story we possibly can. These peers of mine are very talented, and determined. Having something to contribute this meeting is also adding to today’s better feelings.

Willie has been very much a growing puppy today, which has made actual writing almost impossible. He has played as hard as he could, then slept…as hard as he could. When he woke up from his naps he had to eat some before returning to play. Repeat. Willie even managed to get Gaby energized enough to play. I know it wasn’t “pestering” because Gaby’s eyes were bright and sparkly and she bounced on her front legs and barked. This was Willie’s cue to take off running and bounding around the living-room, down through the hall, scratching off in the office and returning. Willie’s tongue was hanging out his mouth as he ran and Chewie and I stayed out of his path. Gaby stood happily bouncing in the living-room. She can’t run anymore, so Willie is going to run for her I believe. They had a great time and I had the same just watching them.Their play started me off feeling better.

There was also some sunshine today, and I felt well enough to raise the blind in the office for the dogs to see the outside. I didn’t enjoy looking out the window as much as they did, but the sunshine made me feel better. The “feeling better” led to just a bit of writing, a question and zing! I was off doing needed research.

Could you call all of this the “connectedness of life”?
